gRO Ragnarok Online Client
This is the home of the gRO (Ragn0rok Online?) client. The intent of this client is to make the game run the way it's supposed to
instead of constantly bottlenecking and limiting the player's ability. The primary goal for the client will be to improve on aspects of the
game that Gravity as never bothered to fix.
At this time, there is nothing to show, aside from planning for features that will hopefully be implementable in the client.
Features and Improvements Planned (NOTHING DEFINITE)
- Proper caching of sprites and effects - Walking through Prontera might become tolerable without twitching your screen
- Castle Status - Know who owns which castles
- Urgent Recall Warning - Is your guild leader trying to urgent recall? Let their client announce it to the guild.
- PVP Death - Did you, or a certain integral member of your guild, die in PVP? Announce it and location
- Sacrifice Tracking - Do you have a sacrifice target you want to watch? Get warned when it is about to, or already did, fall off.
- Knockback updates - Getting knocked back by an MVP or monster won't knock you "too far away from yourself" to do anything
- Auto-Vendor - Time gap? No problem.
- Buff Tracking - Watch the buffs of party members
- Guild HP - Attempt to share more information than before, who has which buffs, guild members' HP
- Healer UI - Heal your party, heal your guild.. easier and better
- RCX-like Support - Coloured tiles based on effects and spells
- UI mod support (basic) - Stay informed on certain aspects, rather than be limited by the existing UI
- World Map - Gone will be the horrible tracking of guild members' locations
- MVP Tracking - May track guild/party MVPs, remember where an MVP was if you spotted it
- Fog of War - Where on the map have you visited? Did you check the bottom right of culverts for GTB already?
- Hotkeys - Better hotkeys and remapping support, no more broken battle mode
- Macros/Gearsets - Simple macroing of text (with variables for echoing certain information)
- Hopefully more...
What this Project is NOT PLANNING TO BE
- Hacking - You will not have "maya purples" all the time, or instant bowling bash, etc.
- Botting - There will be some automation programmed in, but this is for FUNCTIONALITY and SUPPORT of the player, NOT for botting. Automatic reconnection and vending for example, will only be turned on if you walk away from your computer while the game was already running... IT WILL NOT restock your vendor with automatic sales, it will only bring it back to the vends you had before you disconnected.
- Macros - There may be simple macro support, but this will not allow you to automatically switch gear depending on the spell cast upon you. It will be purely USER-CONTROLLED to put multiple gear items on, BUT WILL NOT be automatic.
Keep in mind that this client will be against the rules for public servers. It will be a third party client, 100% unsupported by Gravity and its subsidiaries, and can definitely get you banned if you are caught using it without express permission from GMs. The plan will be to make a client that works as close to the original client as possibly in terms of controls and protocols, but more efficiently and make use of a lot of the technologies available to users today, such as SLI video cards and multiple-core CPUs.
If you have any ideas for the client that you would like implemented, please email me at me@gn0.me.
